Information about the Commonwealth Scholarship Plan and Government of Canada Awards Program.
You can access the results of DFAIT’s 2008-09 Student Exchange Program (SEP) in the link below.
This year, 209 students representing 28 countries received scholarships under the SEP. Since the inception of the program in 2007, 350 foreign students have received scholarships to undertake studies or research at Canadian colleges or universities for up to six months. The list of recipients (for 2007-08 and 2008-09) includes their areas of research specialization as well as their home and Canadian host institutions.
The SEP was established under the reconfigured Commonwealth Scholarship Plan and Government of Canada Awards Program in 2007-08 to address stagnant funding concerns, promote inter-institutional linkages, respond to ODA concerns and align with government and departmental priorities. The scholarships would serve to enhance the skill sets required to advance the development and sustainability of developing regions economically, politically and socially while at the same time, promote the establishment of a network of Canadian contacts to facilitate partnerships and further encourage the building of human capital in these regions.
